why do we have homework

here is a piece of my explanation text I hope you like it

Why do we have homework?

By Santara

What has eight letters and strikes fear into the hearts of students around the world? No, it's not broccoli, but that was a good guess! Give up? HOMEWORK.

Why do we have homework? Did you just gasps in fear We're sorry, but homework is a fact of life and it's time we took a closer look at it. Even though it might get in the way of playing outside or watching your favourite television show, it's necessary and  believe it or not, it is good for you!

Homework creates a bridge between school and home. Parents rarely get to spend much time with you while you're at school. Homework allows them to keep up with what you're doing in your classes on a daily basis. But you don't have homework purely for your parents benefit . It's good for you, too!

Now you know what has eight letters and strikes fear into the hearts of students around the world?
And finally you do not guess broccoli!!!!!!

Why do we have tonsils?

Why do we have tonsils?

By Santara
Do you know any friends who have had their tonsils taken out? They probably missed school and got to eat ice cream for several days. While that may sound like fun, we bet they would have rather been in school that whole time! So where exactly are your tonsils? These small pieces of soft tissue one on the right and one on the left sit all the way at the back of your throat. Tonsils have an important job. They help fight off germs that come in through your nose and mouth. Your tonsils try to prevent germs from causing infections in other areas of your body. Your tonsils usually do a really good job of fighting off infections. Sometimes, though, viruses or bacteria get into your tonsils and cause an infection in them. When this happens, the doctor will tell you that you have tonsillitis. If you have tonsillitis, the doctor will usually give you a “strep test" to see whether the tonsillitis is caused by bacteria (called streptococci bacteria) or a virus. If you have streptococci bacteria in your throat, the doctor can give you antibiotics to kill the bacteria. If not, you have tonsillitis caused by a virus and your body will fight it on its own. winter sport season

Over the winter sport season, I have been playing netball and my coach was Kate Parker who was a really nice and fun coach. Our netball team was the B team and our team was called the Killer Bees. We made up a little saying that when we won, we have killed the bees! My team won 4 games and we lost 3 games. The people in my team were Caoimhe, Ariella, Lara, Meagan, Sophie, Elsha, Cory and myself. We have gone through a couple challenges but we have got through them.
I think that I improved on shooting.

I would like to thank Miss Parker our coach because she has been one of the best coaches. My second choice was hockey and I thought I was not going to make it into a netball team but I was wrong so I was very exited when I found out that I was in the netball B team.
This is my team⇩

Do you play winter sport and what do you play?

Innovtion time

The start of PBL Term 3

The start of this term our PBL focus is how can innovation improve our life. So we had some challenges my first challenge was I had to be in a group of 3 or 4 in my team i had grace, me, molly and holly
then we had to make a boat out of plastic cups, straws, tape, paper and foil but It had to be able to float and see how many marbles it could hold ours could hold 33 we came 2nd because one group got 64. Then the next day we had to make a plane out of tape, paper, straws, play dough, now our challenge was how long it could go and how long it could stay in the air and then you would add them up our total score was 6.39  and then on Friday and we had to be able to make a car move with a car, tape, paper, balloon, string, marbles and rubber bands it was quit hard we popped our balloon so we got our car and made a sale out of paper and guess what we won yahoo.

Question: how you ever made a boat plane or car out of these things.

Recycling in Taiwan

Reading goal: Identify at least one important idea and justify why it is important

recycling   Important idea was: That it used to be called a garbage island and it had no recycling .For years, people protested about the piles of garbage, the unsafe landfills, and the water and air pollution from the garbage. Why it is important: They now have recycling and is leading recycling so they fixed their problem and are now leading recycling. In 1998, the government took action. Their plan affected companies that made products or brought them into the country. These companies were required to take care of their own waste, or to pay the government to do it.

We have been learning a lot in reading about climate change and we designed a poster that we would like to take to a strike here is my image:
here are our reasons why

Do you recycle at your house ?
