my maori storey

Dear Mum

I’m sorry I left without saying goodbye. I had to leave as I was tired of my home life. I needed an adventure away from home. Far, far far away. When I saw a poster advertising this newly discovered land, I just knew that I had to go. So, I got on a big ship, called the Queen Charlotte and sailed with my friends  to a beautiful place called New Zealand. It’s so pretty. Everywhere I look is green. There are so many trees and grasslands everywhere.

Anyway, I miss you all terribly. How is little Johnny? I miss him a lot. I also really miss your yummy stews for dinner. The first people here had to sign something called a treaty to agree on sharing the land with the indigenous.

You should come visit sometime. You can stay at my Whare and bring little Johnny. You could start a new life here.

I really miss you and please bring some of my favorite  stew.

have you ever been over seas on a boat?

13.2.19

Every afternoon we have a little bit of time to do our s.u.w-silent uninterrupted writing so here is one of mine from this term. Please remember that there might be some mistakes in here - it is about
😄 splash planet😄

One day my Nana and my grandpa took me to splash planet. It's a place that has so many slides and pools it was the best time of my life I've never been happier. The first thing I done was go on the highra slides they were so much fun. At that time were were in hasting hawks bay but my Nana lived in Napier so it was a 15 minute drive any way the lazy river went around the hole water-park and there was only 4 exits so went around it 2 time we stayed there for 3-4 hours. These are all the slides there was a fast one a dark one, a slow one, a normal one and then one you had to use a tube I went on them all but my favourite ones were the tube one and the fast one. Oh there was also bumper boats, go karts and a train I went on the bumper boat and the train then my mum and dad came but they didn't come in because my dads back was sore so we are going up there in the next holidays and my mum and dad are coming in they really wanted to come in so they are super excited for the next holidays. Then we went home back to my Nana's house. The End

what is you favorite water-park or some were you really enjoyed❓

why do we have homework

here is a piece of my explanation text I hope you like it

Why do we have homework?

By Santara

What has eight letters and strikes fear into the hearts of students around the world? No, it's not broccoli, but that was a good guess! Give up? HOMEWORK.

Why do we have homework? Did you just gasps in fear We're sorry, but homework is a fact of life and it's time we took a closer look at it. Even though it might get in the way of playing outside or watching your favourite television show, it's necessary and  believe it or not, it is good for you!

Homework creates a bridge between school and home. Parents rarely get to spend much time with you while you're at school. Homework allows them to keep up with what you're doing in your classes on a daily basis. But you don't have homework purely for your parents benefit . It's good for you, too!

Now you know what has eight letters and strikes fear into the hearts of students around the world?
And finally you do not guess broccoli!!!!!!

Why do we have tonsils?

Why do we have tonsils?

By Santara
Do you know any friends who have had their tonsils taken out? They probably missed school and got to eat ice cream for several days. While that may sound like fun, we bet they would have rather been in school that whole time! So where exactly are your tonsils? These small pieces of soft tissue one on the right and one on the left sit all the way at the back of your throat. Tonsils have an important job. They help fight off germs that come in through your nose and mouth. Your tonsils try to prevent germs from causing infections in other areas of your body. Your tonsils usually do a really good job of fighting off infections. Sometimes, though, viruses or bacteria get into your tonsils and cause an infection in them. When this happens, the doctor will tell you that you have tonsillitis. If you have tonsillitis, the doctor will usually give you a “strep test" to see whether the tonsillitis is caused by bacteria (called streptococci bacteria) or a virus. If you have streptococci bacteria in your throat, the doctor can give you antibiotics to kill the bacteria. If not, you have tonsillitis caused by a virus and your body will fight it on its own. winter sport season

Over the winter sport season, I have been playing netball and my coach was Kate Parker who was a really nice and fun coach. Our netball team was the B team and our team was called the Killer Bees. We made up a little saying that when we won, we have killed the bees! My team won 4 games and we lost 3 games. The people in my team were Caoimhe, Ariella, Lara, Meagan, Sophie, Elsha, Cory and myself. We have gone through a couple challenges but we have got through them.
I think that I improved on shooting.

I would like to thank Miss Parker our coach because she has been one of the best coaches. My second choice was hockey and I thought I was not going to make it into a netball team but I was wrong so I was very exited when I found out that I was in the netball B team.
This is my team⇩

Do you play winter sport and what do you play?
